Remember Their Sacrifice

John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

Today is D-Day, June 6 — the anniversary of one of history's most costly acts of sacrifice, when thousands of men gave everything so that others could live in freedom. Jesus spoke these words knowing He would fulfill them completely, and He calls us to see in every act of selfless sacrifice a reflection of His own. Let the courage and love of those who gave their lives today remind you that love is not just a feeling — it is a choice, made at great cost.

Go deeper with every devotion

Journal your reflections, take the daily Grace Challenge, pray with your community, track your streak, and read through the entire Bible — all in one place.

Today's Grace Challenge

Reach out today to a veteran, an active-duty service member, or the family member of someone who has served — a neighbor, a relative, or someone from your church — and simply tell them you are grateful for their family's sacrifice. A phone call, a knock on the door, or a heartfelt text costs nothing but means everything.

Sign in to respond and see how the community is living it out.
